Chain Reaction XI

In collaboration with Chris Bell and Elaine Buckholtz.
Commissioned by the San Francisco Arts Commission, Chain Reaction XI is a site-specific work for the Grove St. annex of the Arts Commission. Integrating found sound and computer-generated samples with my own compositions, I produced a score to accompany Bell’s sculpture – an asymmetrical matrix made with re-purposed fluorescent light tubes. Situated between the San Francisco Town Hall and the Opera House, the annex proved to be a perfect locale for a score that alternated between spoken voice, city sounds, narrative, opera music, and film noir soundtracks.
